Turbulence Effect of Urban-Canopy Flow on Indoor Velocity Fields under Sheltered and Cross-Ventilation Conditions

Understanding the characteristics of natural, wind-induced ventilation buildings is essential for accurate predictions flow rates; however, indoor significantly influenced by surrounding buildings. Therefore, a series wind-tunnel experiments were performed to clarify relationship between outdoor and air flows around within target cube model with several openings. Two building arrangements, namely square (SQ) staggered (ST), placed under condition coverage ratio 25%. The results indicated that wind speed near windward openings on streamwise faces showed 0.3 reference speed, whereas those lateral less than 0.1; these numbers indicate opening positions affect mean speed. Furthermore, temporal fluctuations velocities demonstrated introduction affected turbulent due In addition, correlation was observed. highest correlations obtained both conditions certain delay.
